At Kayangana Eco-Palms, we are on a mission to revolutionize the palm oil industry by bridging the gap between traditional farming and modern innovation. Our goal is to empower sustainable oil extraction through smart mechanization, protecting both our community and our environment.

Founded by a team trained in ethical leadership at Ashesi University, we believe that business can be a force for profound social change. We are not just building a factory — we are building an ecosystem of empowerment for the Rumonge community.

Changing the game for palm oil in Burundi

Mechanized, High-Quality Processing

We eliminate the grueling physical labor and harmful smoke of traditional extraction. Our processing hubs produce pure, safe, branded virgin palm oil well below the 10.0 mg KOH/g international acidity limit.

Community-Centered Service

We empower farmers, not just extract from them. Local farmers can pay a small, affordable service fee to use our state-of-the-art equipment for their own extraction, drastically reducing processing time and maximizing yield.

Zero-Waste Environmental Protection

We convert leftover palm fibers and shells into eco-friendly charcoal and nutrient-rich organic fertilizer, creating additional revenue streams while fully protecting our local environment.

Oversees the design and implementation of our mechanized processing systems, solar energy infrastructure, and technical operations.

Manages day-to-day operations, farmer partnerships, supply chain logistics, and community engagement in Rumonge.

Oversees the palm oil production process, manages inventory flow, coordinates supplier relationships, and ensures timely and efficient product delivery.

Communication & Research Lead

Communications & Research Manager

Drives external communications, manages stakeholder outreach, and leads research initiatives to inform product development and market strategy.

Our vision extends far beyond refining palm oil — we aim to refine the future of the Rumonge community. Long-term, a percentage of our profits will be dedicated to establishing the Kayangana Foundation.
